Q: I want to get a septum piercing but I heard that it could cause a deviated septum. Is that true? -McKayla
A: This is, happily, just a myth. A deviated septum can be caused by a number of things including injury, infection, or even just be present at birth. And having a deviated septum can prevent you from getting a septum piercing. But there is simply no way that a septum piercing can actually cause a deviated septum. So, if you were putting off getting your septum pierced for fear of that happening, this is your sign to feel free to get it done. Happy piercing!
Q: Sorry if this is weird but is there any danger to kissing with lip rings? My new bf has lip piercings too and I'm afraid they're going to get caught lol. -Kyrie
A: This is a valid question and not even a little bit weird! Kissing with lip piercings, even with both of you having lip piercings, should not create a problem. Theoretically, there is a tiny chance that if both you and your boyfriend have horseshoe rings in your piercings, they could catch on to each other, but it would only be a matter of unhooking them from each other. The odds of that actually happening are minute and it would only be possible because of the opening in the circular jewelry. No other style even would be possible at all. The only real danger would be exposing new piercings to bodily fluids. The human mouth is teeming with bacteria and the potential for infection would be high, not to mention the movement of the jewelry which can delay healing and lead to healing bumps. So the answer here is that no, you don’t really have to worry about getting your jewelry stuck together but to make sure that all piercings involved are fully healed. Best of luck!
