Can You Kiss With A Lip Piercing? How to Kiss With A Lip Ring
Kissing With a Lip Ring
Your lips are the perfect place for a piercing. As one of the most significant focal points of the face, your lips can be modded in many different ways (more than a dozen, in fact) to suit any individual's look. Whether your piercing is through the lip or in the lip; symmetrical or one-sided; or studs or hoops, they're an amazing part of your body to have pierced.
Whether you've got a labret; monroe; snake bites; a medusa (philtrum); or any of the myriad of other lip piercing options, you know just how exciting it is to have a lip piercing... But obviously your lips are more than just a canvas for stunning body jewelry... They're used for talking, facial expressions, eating, and being romantic with a partner. Most notably - kissing.
It's certainly not impossible to kiss with a lip piercing, but it's important to consider how this new piercing may affect your romantic life. Just like with any piercing, it's important to do your research before you dive into a new body mod. Here's Body Candy's checklist of what to expect when you're kissing someone with a lip piercing

Can You Kiss With a Lip Piercing?
The short answer: Yes.
The long answer: kissing someone who has a lip piercing (or when you have a lip piercing) shouldn't be much different than a normal kiss. Sure you'll have to navigate the strange sensation of a piece of jewelry in your way, but all in all, this shouldn't provide too much of an obstacle.
Where it gets tricky: you should be extremely careful while you or your partner are still in the process of healing. This is true for any piercing, but while your lip piercing is healing, you'll want to keep it as immobile as possible. This means talking less, smiling less, and, yes, kissing less.
The act of kissing may also introduce bacteria, bodily fluids, or debris (think lip balm, lip stick, or other beauty products) into your fresh piercing. The movement of kissing may also jostle or irritate the piercing, causing a prolonged heal time; irritation; or damage to your fragile new mod. Any of these outside influences could cause a piercing bump to form, which is unsightly and uncomfortable... The last thing you want around your beautiful new jewelry is a stubborn piercing bump!
The Good News: Your lips have a fantastic blood supply and because of this, they tend to be some of the fastest-healing piercings. Most lip piercings heal up within one (1) to three (3) months of being pierced.
How To Kiss Someone With A Lip Piercing
Assuming you and/or your partner both have completely healed lip piercings, kissing is a-ok!
Our guess is that you won't find kissing someone with lip jewelry very strange at all... But if we had to pick, the "weirdest" part of the process will be learning how to incorporate the jewelry into your kissing routine.
It's probably tempting to bite, suck on, or play with your partner's jewelry... And while this is certainly fun at times, you'll need to be aware of the strength at which you do so. Most lip jewelry is metal, meaning it can cause damage to you or your partner's teeth. Depending on the jewelry material, you may even damage their lip jewelry (which could be a serious mood killer). Even too much suction can become pretty uncomfortable for the piercee - unless you have explicit permission to be rougher with their piercing, it's important to be respectful of the other person's body at all times.
Communication is Key
If you haven't kissed yet and you're curious about the experience, make an effort to talk to your partner! Some individuals probably want their jewelry to be played with during a make-out sesh. Others... Not so much. This might even make a great segue into your first kiss!
Piercings can often lead to a more creative way to be intimate with your partner. Try kissing gently around the piercing instead of directly upon it. Try using your piercings to create different sensations on your partner's neck or other body parts.
Remember - everyone's body is different! Everyone's piercing is different. Everyone likes different things. Be open and honest with your partner at all times about the way you feel during a kiss.
